Adding external mic jack in digital camera?
I’m quite handy with electronics, I build amplifiers and wire all my instruments myself, etc.
I own a refurbished Kodak Z1275, and while it shoots pretty nice pictures and such, when I’m recording myself playing something, the mic simply isn’t up to snuff. I’m planning on adding a stereo mini-jack somewhere on the body, so that I can plug my preamp into it and record via a quality condenser mic, rather than a tinny piece of shit.
Really, I’m just wondering if anyone else has attempted this successfully, and any pointers ( such as an impedance mismatch, etc.)

Just record the sound separately on decent gear, edit out the built in sound track and replace it with the decent sounds in a video editor.
