Digital vs Film SLR Camera shutter response?
I am frustrated by the shutter lag when I press the shutter button of my digital camera-misses the moment-up to one second at times (light, focusing etc). I had a Nikon film SLR in the past and the shutter response was almost instantaneous. How do the new digital SLR’s come up in shutter response compared to film cameras?
They are as fast. No perceived shutter lag at all even for entry level DSLR and some of the pro models are even faster than ever before.
Since you have already a Nikon… you might want to look at a D50 in the second hand market – the newer D40 and D40x might not allow your current lens to autofocus because they don’t have built in drive motor for some lenses. Or better yet, you can step up for a D80 – that thing is just sweet.
