which stores in retail give the best support when buying a digital camera?
i just bought a Sanyo from Wamart. i also went to best buy. they don’t know squat. I finally bought my camera at Wal-mart but when i called tech supdort at Sanyo, they hung up twice on me. and no i was not rude.

Good to know! Sorry about your experience. I had a similar experience with Sony. I think it is best to buy digital cameras from manufactures who have a reputation for many years of camera production, like Fuji ( the best in customer service anyone could find), Canon, and Olympus.
I worked in retail in the 1960′s, when retailers hired knowledgeable people to staff the camera “departments”. Now that cameras are in a “unmanned section it makes it very hard to get one on one help that is worth a d_ _ _ .
SInce your just bought your camera from Walmart, if you were smart enough (which I preach almost every time I answer a question of this type) to keep the box, packing, instructions, I would return the camera to Walmart. After the sales girl/guy gives your money back. Ask to see the manager. Tell him you cannot buy a product where the manufacturer themselves will not support the product. I did this with a “LG” refrigerator at Home Depot. Bought a Maytag and that pooped out in to years-sometimes you just can’t win!
