The manual dexterity involved in being able to develop the films and the color separation of positives on which depended the quality of photo prints, was what brought immense sense of achievement to the photographers.
It is amusing to recall the earliest cameras which were big huge black boxes made of thick fabric with the lenses and films on two ends of the box and the huge stand on which the box had to be hoisted. One can remember with great fondness the journey of the camera and photography from the black box to what it is today.
Today the postproduction work is all done digital using soft wares on computers.The digital animation artists are trained on using different kinds of texture, light and filters on the images to produce the desired quality of image. They complete what the Photographers have started. But still it is the keen artistic eye of the photographer that they depend upon to give them the beautiful image to work with. Come what may the photographers will always have to develop their creativity and skills to produce good photographs.
