Help with Canon camera?!?
I have a canon powershot pro1 digital camera. I was wondering if there are any filters that will work with this (UV, Polarizing, etc.)? Or, is there anyway I can get a connector to attach new lenses to this? I know its a point and shoot, but maybe something that snaps on? Thanks so much!
Canon shows that there is a 58 mm closeup add-on lens available for that camera and a lens adapter, but no new add-on lenses at this time

There really never was a way to make a P&S camera do what a proper DSLR does. Use a huge (15x larger sensor than a P&S), have interchangeable lenses or provide the control a photographer requires to produce some of the amazing images we have come to love (star trails, light graffiti, selective depth of field and many many more.
In 2004, this was a $1000 camera. Now you can get much more versatility with a $700 DSLR including your first lens. For what you want to do, add lenses and use polarizing filters, a nice entry level DSLR may be worth saving for.
For now spend your time using the fine Pro 1 and work on your composition.
