Once a picture or video is deleted from a digital camera, can it be retrieved?
I have an olympus digital camera that uses a memory card. I have deleted pictures and videos that I would be interested in retrieving, is their any way to get those back? I did not save them on my computer.

Both other answers are wrong. IF and I do mean if, you have not “shot” new pictures over the old ones, they can be recovered. This is true with most all digital media, such as hard drives, media cards, thumb drives, etc. This is an old dos trick as the files are still there. The only thing that happens when you delete a file is the first item in the TOC is changed. It does require accessing the attribute bit and restoring it to what it was. In the old dos days that was done with a program called disc doctor. A more modern version is called R studio and can be downloaded from the net. There are several others as well. Try downloads.com from ZD net and there may even be a free one. R studio demo will show you the files but won’t “fix” them. You have to purchase the full version to fix them, but you may have a friend that has a copy and can get the files back for you. Some computer shops will do it for customer service and not charge you if it is just one SD card.
