Digital Camera Recommendations Please? Expert needed?
My parents bought for me an Olympus FE – 47 for Christmas. I didn’t like the picture quality, wondered if perhaps I wasn’t using the right setting, but decided to check reviews. Found, mostly bad ones. This page pretty much sums up the feelings on it :

I am now thinking of returning it to the store and trying to get a different one instead. Any recommendations for a great digital camera at a good price? This one was 80$ so would like something in that price range.
I did notice that my biggest qualm with it so far is that unlike my sister’s camera, mine does not light adjust for the brightness. Her’s adjusts when in dim lighting. This one takes terrible dim lighting photos, makes it look like it’s pitch black in the room, and there’s a dome of light in the middle with blurred edges
Look for anything made by Canon or Nikon. You simply can’t go wrong with those brands. Did you look for other cameras on that retrevo site and compare them? I would start there and save yourself some time or try a site called digitalcamerareview.com.

Lily, thank you for posting that link to retrevo. I am getting ready to buy the Nikon D3100 and I found a ton of reviews and articles on that site. I use to have an Olympus as well, the battery life on it really sucked so I shyed away from that brand. I currently have a Panasonic Lumix, its an awesome little camera. I suggest you try that model too, hopefully they have one in your price range.
