Olympus IR – 300 digital camera zoom error .. Please help !!?
Ive had it for about 3 years now, and about a year ago It started coming up with this zoom error …
1. I turn the camera on
2. I turn it on view so I can take a picture
3. It gos straight to a blue screen with red writing that says “zoom error”
4. It turns itself off.
I can still look at the photos that are saved on the camera so its not that the screen dosent work or anything like that.
My parents bought me a new camera for christmas but its just not the same and Ive also found out they dont make this camera anymore, It would be GREAT if i could somehow fix this problem as the warrenty has run out and Ive had it looked at by this guy that didnt seem to know alot about digital cameras & charged me $80 to tell me my camera was broken … ha, so yeah any help would be good xo
It means that the zoom is stuck or that the battery is failing and unable to deliver sufficient current to drive the zoom – even if it appears to charge. When it gives that message is the battery warning also on?
You can try blowing dust and debris out from around the zoom/body area with compress air – that will sometimes help. Also check that the lens protection cover blades have been bent and causing the zoom to jam.
