Nikon D40 6.1MP Digital SLR Camera?
I would like to buy this camera, but my father owns the same brand and it is nicer, but his does not take candid photos. There is always a delay in taking pictures. You can not keep snapping photo after photo. Does this camera do this or not?

Any DSLR (which the D40 is) has very little shutter lag (about 50 milliseconds), nothing that is as noticable as a P&S camera (up to 3 seconds when using its flash)
You can snap to your hearts content with this camera .. at 2.5 fps, unlimited JPEG or until you fill your memory card.
