Looking for my first digital camera?
Am an absolute technology idiot. Excuse me if everyone knows this stuff but me, but I need to ask: What is the difference between optical and digital zoom. Does it affect picture quality? Also, how do you tell how many pictures the camera will hold?
Optical zoom is where the glass lens changes focal length to bring in something closer. Digital zoom is when the pixels are enlarged to make it look like a zoom. Digital zoom causes the picture to get fuzzier as it gets bigger. Optical zoom keeps the sharpness all the way thru the enlarging process. Hope this helps
