Need info on what to look for in buying a digital camera?
I have no idea on anything about digital cameras so I want to know information on what to look for in a camera. I want a camera that takes good quality pictures and I have the option to print my pictures in a 8X10 size or bigger. What kind of mega pixels do I look for and other info about cameras. What brands should I go for and what brands should I stay away from. I’m not looking for something exspensive just something for family friends and vacations.
Things to look for in a digital camera in no particular order:
1. Optical Zoom capability (not digital zoom)
2. Sensor size (not megapixel but actual size of the sensor)
3. Dual Image stabilization (both optical & digital)
4. Face Detection function
5. Movie recording with zoom capability during recording
6. Complete metal body
7. Large LCD screen
8. Megapixel Count (anything over 8MP is fine)
9. Does the Zoom lens extend beyond the body or not.
That being said, If you want something compact and very affordable I would consider the Samsung TL9, it is a gorgeous camera (nice retro style design) with a lot of features for a great price.
