Kodak easyshare docking station and camera?

this is similar to the camera and docking station i have but i have a problem with it
i plug the docking station in by the mains it has new ink cartridge and paper all plugged and connected correctly. the lights for the docking station come on for 10 seconds then everything goes off ???
i put the camera ontop of the docking station but nothing happens so i turn the camera on and it is ready to take pictures not ready to print
the manual doesnt really help . and there is no on/off switch on the docking station ?
can anyone help me please ????
