Great camera
I just received the following camera today and it’s a real beauty. to begin with I am not a professional photographer so I really just needed the best, solid camera with huge zoom capability and good resolution. The P90 fits into your market in all that. I am studying your manual today to how to use all the alternative features and capabilities and more than likely it will be a joy to use. My previous camera appeared to be a Kodak DX6490 which wonderful camera but began acting somewhat flaky. So, it was time for the new, upgraded camera. The P90 has a superb “feel”, very solid and a bit hefty which makes it seem like a “real” video camera. I took a few sample pictures and they look great. I got it from Amazon at a very good price compared to a nearby retailers in my place. Included are the battery, charger, lens cap, guitar’s neck strap, A/V cable in addition to USB cable. I had a 2 GB SD cards which, according to that display, would hold about 350 pictures along at the highest quality and resolution. I have ordered a strong 8 GB card in addition to extra batteries so i can be prepared for the insufficient league season coming up. The menu system is convenient to use and the buttons/switches are all inside right place and easy gain access to. Unless there is something drastically wrong keeping this camera that I have yet to seek out I think I are going to be very pleased with the idea.

Good Substitute
I are using a Nikon P90 Coolpix for about 30 days, and I am very impressed by it. I had been considering an electronic SLR (Nikon D80), but after using one from a friend I decided that the size and dimenstions might deter me from carrying it very often. There was also a problem of cost. The P90 costs from 1/3 up to the digital SLR.
Features i like:
1. Sturdy feel as well as smooth functioning. Controls tend to be convenient with many dependable options.
2. 12. 5X optical lens. I don’t use electronic digital zoom.
3. Image stabilization
4. Ability to switch by screen to viewfinder to watch images (the viewfinder shows exactly the same digital image as the screen). I have been using a viewfinder for 60 many years and I prefer it to trying to observe the screen, especially in bright sun. I wouldn’t possess a camera without a viewfinder.

All in all, I think that this camera is a very strong upper level amateur performer. Except for utilizing some very specialized interchangeable lenses, it can do most things that the digital SLR can do and do it faster research less bulk. Tamrac makes a case that satisfies almost exactly (like that camera, available on Amazon). Not everyone feels that your case is necessary, but I find this handy for carrying the camera along with a few accessories when not being used.
