would the Fujifilm FinePix S200EXR Digital Camera …..?
be good for taking professional photos of people(portraits,model shoots)? they say it has features of dslr also, was wondering if it had good shutter speed. also I hear mixed reviews,some say the qulaity of the pics are ALMOST as good as dslr and some say they dont compare, any suggestions are good.
these are all good answers so far but I only want to know about the Fujifilm FinePix S200EXR.
In ideal circumstances (i.e. not motocross, a mile away in the dark) any camera can do just fine. There is not much my fuji s1000 can’t do. On a DSLR i can do it much faster and easier. But the fuji bridge can also do it, even off shoe flash. I can simply slave them. But like I said it is a pain in the rear-end to change anything on a bridge when compared to a DSLR. It took me about 5 tries for each shot to get it to focus. Then I had to guess blindly at the exposure when I slaved. That would have been 6 seconds and 2 buttons on my DSLR.
A bridge camera can give you pictures just fine if you know how to take just fine pictures. They may be more noisy and you can’t blur the background. I would suggest you get a XS or d3000 BODY ONLY and a 50mm f/1.8 lens. Practice with those and get every book you can get, read it, practice more and read more. No professional will ever blame his equipment. The moment you take responsibility for bad picture is the moment you start making good ones.
I messed up some pictures by zooming in and shifting to 5.6 on my 4-5.6 lens, they blurred. It was my dumb fault for not getting closer or adjusting accordingly. However with knowledge and experience I realized I can maintain my distance and get fast enough with a better lens. Not a necessity but makes my day easier. If you are happy with how a s200exr works then go with that. The best camera for you is the one you are happy using.
