How do I get a Soft Focus on my pics with my digital camera?
I want to know how to get a soft look on my pics I take with my digital camera. I am not a professional but I have seen people do this a lot. If you have jewelry on it seems to make it more shiny (standing out) in the pic. My profile pic is an example of what I am talking about.
Easy
The old style way using the camera is to stretch a nylon stocking over the lens. On a compact digital camera, just stretch it over the front or the entire camera.
On SLR cameras, photographers used either a soft focus lens filter or smeared Vasoline over a clear lens filter (messy).
The nylon stocking or a section of cheese cloth works well.
