Whats the best cheap(ish) camera for underwater diving?
Im a student going away for 8 weeks over the summer diving in indo. I want a digital camera so i dont have to carry masses of films, and im going diving, im not sure how deep, bout maybe round the 30meter mark? Whats the best and the cheapest things i can get.
Im going for 8 weeks and in the middle of nowhere without masses of space for film which is why a digital would be better.
Any idea what ball park kind of price i would be expecting to pay?

I’ve done quite a bit of diving and have even shot some film underwater.
Since you’re asking for a cheapish underwater camera I’ll suggest that you take a look at Sea&Sea’s MX-10. It used to be a very fancy camera but now it’s really cheap.
Why? Because it’s not digital. I don’t think you can get an underwater digital on the cheap right now.
If you want to go for the best then get a Canon 5D and an Aquatica housing with a couple of Sea&Sea strobes and you’ll make David Doubilett jaleous of your shots (almost).
