Will the CCD of a DSLR camera be damaged by intense light?
I was wondering if the CCD of a digital single-lens reflex camera would be damaged under any of the following circumstances:
1. Taking a picture pointed directly at the sun
2. Taking a picture accidentally without a lens in normal household lighting(I figured that more light would reach the CCD without a lens on)
3. Clearing dust off the CCD with the mirror out of the way and exposing CCD to light for 10 minutes.
I would really appreciate if if someone answered this question! 
In the first circumstance, provided you are in any mode except shutter priority or full manual, your camera will automatically correct the shutter speed as best as possible (provided it is set so that the sun is somewhere within the area being metered).
In the second circumstance, this is again not a problem. Yes there is less light coming in when there is a lens on, but that light is also more focused instead of just bouncing every which way. so the light is actually not as powerful.
In the third instance, the cleaning should not take long enough for it to be open for ten minutes. Not only that, but during this time the sensor is not receiving power.
