what is the optical zoom of canon DSLR EOS 1100D?
is there a concept of optical zoom applicable on Digital Single-Lens Reflex (DSLR) cameras as well, like in compact cameras, if yes then what is it for Canon EOS 1100D?
The camera? Zero.
Optical zoom is all about the lenses you use.
I have two 2x zooms. One is a 12-24 mm and the other is a 200-400 mm lens. Both are 2x if you do the math, but are used for totally different subjects.
The 18-200 mm or 28-300 mm lenses have the most zoom range, 11x
Since you can put almost any focal length lens from fisheye to extreme telephoto on a dSLR, optical zoom is not relevant. The reason it is so important on a P&S is that what ever lens it has, that is what you are stuck with until you buy a new camera
