which small digital camera takes good pictures in the dark or early evenings?
When I go on holiday, I like to take shots in the evenings but the pics do not pick up detail on landscapes. Is there a digital camera which takes good pics at night time. One person did say the Nikon 5000.
Any ideas
Taking any photos at night are going to be challenging. It is dark, and if you set up a high ISO, it will probably give a lot of noise in the pic.
So, it really does not matter which camera you have. They will all be very similar and take the same type of photo.
But to take a decent night photo, you need to put the camera on a tripod. Set the ISO to like 400. And then set the shutter speed to like 1 second, 10 seconds etc…. you may have to try several to get it right. These are long exposures… which gives the image enough time to gather light to give detail in the landscapes which you were mentioning.
This will take trial and error, but it all depends on your settings and the light that is available outside.
It is also really COOL, to do these long exposures, like say 1 minute or longer where you set up a street scene, or something similar. And after you click the shutter, walk across the scene…. REALLY SLOW…. and if you do it slow enough… you will see a ghost image of yourself across the photo. A little mystical… and spooky, but really fun to do!
