Any simple way to fix LCD screen on a digital camera?
Sony Cyber-shot 7.2 Mpixel camera. Works, but LCD screen is always black. Any ideas on how to fix it without spending 130 bucks sending it back to the factory?
You don’t say if it is always black or black during picture taking/reviewing/menus.
If it is black only under certain modes, a reset will probably fix it.
Look at your manual to see how to do this. Maybe you can also plug it into a TV and work off of it. Some cameras do this and make the TV screen display what the LCD does.
If it is always black and there are no signs of damage, you can risk taking it apart to see if the cable to the LCD became disconnected. If it looks cracked, you’ll have to either find a replacement screen and fix it yourself or send it in.
