Which is a better digital camera, the Fuji A400 or the Nikon Coolpix L4, and why?

Of the two…. the Fuji seems the more simpler & compactly laid out of the 2, but the Nikon seems to have a longer (claimed) battery life.
Personally I use the Fuji Finepix A345, which uses similar controls to the A400.. and it’s a pretty good camera…… found the battery life can be extended by trading in the standard ENERGISER batteries like it was supplied with (which packed in after filling the 16MB card 1.5times) with some VARTA “High Energy” batteries, which are cheaper + last longer enough to fill the 128MB card I upgraded to.
But reading through the Nikon review properly, it appears to be better before I’ve even read through the first page.
