what do all the symbols on digital cameras mean? is there a glossary with pictures and explanations of them?
On the screen of digital cameras there are so many different symbols. What do all the symbols on digital cameras mean? is there a glossary online with pictures and explanations of them? For example, what does it mean when there is a symbol with a small picture of a camera and lines around it as if it is shaking, and an exclamation mark next to it?
Ok I’m looking through the owners manual, its 148 pages- still haven’t found it but I’ll keep looking. Shouldn’t there be a list stating what all the icons/symbols mean?
Anybody want to guess what that “yellow shaking camera with exclamation mark next to it” could possibly mean?
I finally found it in the manual. That symbol means “slow shutter speed. Picture may be blurred.”
You’ll find a description of all such icons in the instruction manual included with every camera. Many symbols like a close up of a flower representing a ‘macro’ mode, or a symbol of ‘thunderbolt’ representing flash have become almost standard but for more details (and for not so common symbols) refer to the manual of the camera you are interested in.
