Anyone know if the Sony Handycam DCR-SR82 can be used as a webcam?
I have a Sony Handycam DCR-SR82 digital camcorder which connects to a USB port using a docking station and was wondering if there were any software programs, drivers, or hardware available to be able to use this camera as a webcam?
I know of some programs that do this but they require a Firewire port, and my cam connects via a USB connection, so I’m not sure if it is possible to do this or not.
Also, if it is possible, what software/hardware would I need? Thanks!
You may not need a program – go under Control Panel and look for “Scanners and Cameras.” Open that up. If you see you camera listed then it is already ready for use, otherwise hit imaging device and go through the wizard. Once that is done then go to whatever IM program your using and select that device as your webcam. Under yahoo im it will ask you what device you want to use. Hope this helps
