Digital Camera zoomed in too much in astrophotography?
Hi all,
basically I own a celestron nextstar 8″, and recently bought a digital camera adaptor for my fuji digital cam. However, to my disappointment, I noticed that the cam without any lense gives a magnification of about 10x, same as mywebcam.
I would like to ask, is there any way to reduce this magnification, like insert a 40x lense in the middle or something?
the reason is I would really love to photograph the moon while having the cam steady 
I don’t have much experience in the area and a bit confused on what you are asking.
The adapter that you have for the camera allows for the image to be in focus at the focal plane of the camera. If you have a 35mm film camera, the image cover the same area as the 35 mm camera film. If you have a digital camera, the sensor size will make the difference. The focal point will have the same size image, but the surface area of that image would be less compared to a 35mm film camera.

Digital cameras only see a fraction of the image at the film plane, which gives the impression of a magnification of the image.
