Why Not Purchase A Canon Powershot SD870IS 8MP?
Released just some months after the SD850, Canon SD870IS 8MP uses the specs of its precursor while bringing out a number of yummy toppings of its own.
3″ wide display
Everything is using the wide screen by the minute. Even SD870IS provide you with one of its wonderful advantages over its SD850, its whopping 3-inches screen that offers 230k pixels. While it loses the beneficial viewfinder of its forerunners, it’s not possible to be let down much over this tiny difference as SD870IS monitor is effective even in broad daylight. Certain models obliterate the subjects, which makes it difficult for the user to focus. But with the SD870IS, you can nevertheless point-and-click under the sun or with overdone lighting, and also you get additional half-an-inch viewing area when compared with SD850.
28mm lens
If you like long lens, you will probably miss the SD850′s 35 to 140mm range. However, a lot of people don’t think that the 28mm to 105mm (4,6 – 17.3mm) range of the SD870 camera is a letdown. That makes a letter size image without tweaking and sacrificing image quality. However, the shooting speed is somewhat slower, with 1.3 fps compared to the 1.7 fps of the SD850. Movie clips can be played in long play with 640 x 480 resolution in 30 frames per second and plays 160 x 120 at 30 fps in compact mode.
The Canon SD870IS 8MP is an easy to use point-and-shoot camera and bit lacking in manual adjustments. You can still adjust the image color from black and white to blue or sepia, adjust the exposure compensation, metering, and white balance. In any case, it’s still one of those cameras that work well both in the Manual and Auto mode. The AF assist lamp is pretty useful especially indoors and in dark areas where there is very little light. Like most point-and-click digital cameras, you might still want to keep a low ISO, since the cameras’ high pixels will still add digital noise in smaller images even with some tweaking on Photoshop.
In a nutshell
Canon Powershot SD870IS 8 MP might appear to be the still fresh SD850 with a somewhat increased price tag. But the broader perspectives together with higher pixels are some benefits that not all SD850 enthusiasts can refrain from. Not to take for granted that a number of people don’t like the positioning of the on/off control key on the SD850, which is located somewhat over the Liquid crystal display display, compared to the old and tested on/off button of the SD870. Despite the fact that it’s just a larger by a hairbreadth compared with its precursor, it nevertheless makes a good companion each and every time you require a trusted point-and-click digital camera.
