How do you slow down the shutter speed on the Canon PowerShot S5 IS 8.0MP Digital Camera ??
I recently bought the Canon PowerShot S5 IS 8.0MP Digital Camera and I want to know how to slow down the shutter speed
I am trying to capture a meteor shower, and I don’t know how to go about changing the settings so I can get that “extended light” kind of look to the meteors..

Those types of pictures are not produced with digital cameras. In order to get a picture like that you need three things: a tripod, a SLR camera (the ones that have large lenses), and a remote. What the photographer does is they switch there shutter to manual, press the remote attatched to the camera to allow the camera to start capturing light and press it again to stop it. Like the webpage said that was a 30 minute exposure, meaning for half an hour the camera was sitting on a tripod absorbing the movement the stars were making. I know I rambled, I hope this helps.
