Canon has released the Canon ELPH 300 HS, the slimmest digital camera. This camera offers incredibly brilliant 12.1 Megapixels still images and fantastic 1080p HD videos. This Canon ELPH 300 HS measures 2.2 by 3.6 by 0.8 inches (HWD) and weighs just 4.3 ounces, you’ll hardly even notice it.
The 24mm ultra Wide-Angle lens and 5x Optical Zoom and Optical Image Stabilizer help you achieve great images everywhere. I love having a wide angle zoom go down to 24mm. It’s great for scenery and photojournalist type shots. Most importantly, Canon ELPH 300 HS Digital Camera has a different sensor, a 12.1 megapixel CMOS sensor compared to the Canon SD1400 IS 14.1 megapixel CCD sensor of the earlier version. The new sensor is designed to give the camera enhanced low light image quality and faster speed.
The improvement in image quality gets more and more visible the greater and greater the ISO. The Canon ELPH 300 HS can shoot photos up to ISO 800 without breaking Imatest’s threshold. It delivers the HS SYSTEM is Canon’s advanced DIGIC 4 Image Processor, which delivers high speed image processing and actively reduces noise. And also the 2.7-inch display is adequate, and it’s clearly the largest display that could fit on such a small body.
If you are wanting continuous AF and zoom with your video this Canon PowerShot ELPH 300 HS is the one you want compared to the ELPH 100 HS which doesn’t allow you to zoom. The continuous AF with face recognition is stellar with this camera in video mode. The face detection also works great. You will need to change AF modes from face detection if you have a person in the picture but want something other than the person to be in focus.
