New digital camera 10MP has smaller sized photos than old camera?
My new Sony 10MP camera takes highest resolution photos and they are less than 1Mb in size, but my older Sony 5MP digital camera would take photos and they would be 3-5Mb in size. Is this what is suppose to happen or is my new camera meant to give out huge file size photo’s?
Check what size of image you have set on the camera.
You’ll have several options.
A Sony 10mp camera (DSC H20) offers:
3648×2736 10mp
2592×1944 5mp
2048×1536 3mp
640×480 VGA
plus a couple of other settings for widescreen.
In easy shooting mode you have large (10mp) and Small (3mp).
In both cases the default is 10mp, so you must have already changed the resolution.
