How to download from Canon s45 with original filename without cardreader?
Whenever I connect my Canon s45 digital camera to either of my Windows XP computers, the scanners and cameras dialog box comes up and then asks me to give a name to the photos before downloading them. This happens for either normal or PTP mode, either with their WIA driver installed or not. How do I get the files to download with their original names. I hate pulling the CF card and using a card reader because I just know I’m going to bend one of the pins in the camera reinserting it someday. This camera is not recognized as a USB Mass Storage Device and doesn’t show up as a removable drive.
There is no download for the entire ZoomBrowser or I would have tried it myself. There is only an updater download. I bought the camera used without software thinking it would be like my Olympus and Panasonic cameras that are USB MSDs. I was wrong. Canon just has to do things differently.
