I’m looking for a good compact camera.?
Could anyone please help me out? I’m planning to buy my friend a compact digital camera for Christmas.
It should cost around $150, have at least 7 megapixels and decent photo quality.
I did some research and found out that Canon’s PowerShot series is the most popular one. However I am not satisfied with the image quality. The pictures look blurry and the colours are washed out.
So could anyone please suggest something different?
If there’s nothing better available for that price, I guess I’m going to buy the Canon A570 IS.
I would advise spending a little more ($175) and getting a Canon Powershot SD 1000. I couldn’t be happier with mine and from the reviews on Amazon (423!), most people who have this little beauty are thrilled with it.

It may be a little late to order from Amazon for Christmas, though, unless you are willing to wrap up a picture of the camera and make your friend wait for the real thing!
