What is the best printer for digital pictures? (price is not a factor)?
I am using a Canon dslr digital camera and looking for a printer that produces professional quality photos…
The Canon Pro 9500 is one of the top. If you want even better, get the Canon IPF 5100 or IPF 5000 those will do 16×20 no problem, but for your descriptions the Pro 9500 or the Pro 9000 will both work great.
I would suggest maybe getting the 9000 and put some $ aside for a better lens. As the lens quality will limit the image quality a bunch. Tamron makes good lenses, but the longer the zoom range the loss of image quality normally, unless you are paying top $$ for it, and even then 2 good Lenses will normally give better results instead of the 1. I suggest the new Tamron SP (pro series) 70-200mm F2.8 Its a very good lens, and a fast lens, meaning it will shoot in low light because of the 2.8 aperture, also gives the blown out affect to the background as that is caused by the shallow depth of field when using a large aperure (small # but lets in more light, like 2.8) Its about $700 now and the Canon version is a tad sharper but a lot more $$$.
