Best cheap digital camera flash brand?
I’m looking to buy a flash for my EOS digital canon rebel XT without spending a lot of money. I’ve found a few different brands that are cheaper : Sunpak, Bower, Phoenix, and vivitar? which os the best flash for price???
Be careful.
The new DSLR’s cameras use very low trigger voltages (Canon 6v and Nikon 12v) This has a lot to do with all the communication that is going on between the flash units and the cameras. Many of the older flash units use trigger voltages of over 300v.
If you buy a flash unit that uses a higher trigger voltage you will fry the electronics in your camera and void the warranty.
You will be better off saving your pennies and buying one of the Canon dedicated flash units for your XT.
