Pentax K-5: One Of The Best APS-C DSLR Camera
I upgraded on the K-7. Pentax K-5 keeps the excellent design, unparralleled build good quality, super quiet shutter noise and outstanding ergonomics connected with K-7, has the very best APS-C sensor. High ISO performance is stunning. What worth mentioning is always that the Low ISO performance can be outstanding, noticably better than the K-7. Also, the super high Dynamic Range can be quite helpful. AF speed is just not much improved, but additional decisive. For DA* SDM contacts, the speed is not improved at all. All my lenses are usually SDM, but I have the speeds are fast adequate. The AF-C mode is usually much improved, but is usually improved further. The camera is fun to use, I bet everybody who has a Pentax K5 loves that.
I’d like to investigate the following two difficulties:
1. stained sensor trouble was solved already, most of cameras having serial variety larger than 3973*** are usually fine. Basically this problem is already worry free.
2. the actual bad Auto Focus less than artificial light condition. I believe this is a relatively unusual problem that happens using a few bodies. Don’t be afraid with this, just buy one and try it in your own home. If it does take place (very little chance), then exchange for just a new one.
I possess hand-on experience of Canon 7D plus Nikon D7000, I might say the D7000′s photo quality (from ISO100 to ISO3200) is on par by using K-5, both of which have been better than the 7D. 7D’s construction is on par using the K-5 but K-5 is much smaller, D7000 falls behind on this regard.
Over the past a few years I’ve migrated on the Pentax k-100d up towards latest k-5. I right now own the k-20d, the actual k-x, the k-7 it’s true the k-5. Along the best way the k-7 disappointed me probably the most. But this k-5 comprises for it. This is usually an incredible camera. The resolution as well as low noise level (even on high ISO’s) have impressed me essentially the most. This camera coupled together with an average lens including Pentax 18-250 is great. Coupled with the D-star improved lenses or the Limited upgraded lenses and it’s outstanding. It’s as good when any APS-C sensor camera currently available. I shoot landscapes considerably and this has become the few cameras I’ve used the place that the leaf definition comes through even portable. I don’t shoot video clip so I cannot comment on that function.
I’ve been reading regarding the infamous sensor stain issue that has arisen over the early on k-5′s. I’m still trying to evaluate whether or not my camera has in which problem although Pentax has acknowledged the problem and has taken burden. I’ll revisit this issue in such a review if necessary.
i’m keen on this Pentax K-5 and it produces decent images plus footage. I had my hands on it for just two days. It has excellent bright 100% viewfinder, the grip is nice. i became using Pentax 7 in advance of and wasn’t trilled which consists of perfomance. This 5 apparently uses Sony’s sensor, that is the same like with Sony and Nikon cameras. I gave it 4 stars because for the features, quality and VALUE, the latter in MHO is too much.
