digital camera for taking portraits and still lifes?
I’m looking to buy a digital camera. I’ve narrowed it down to 2 that I’m interested in- the Canon A650 and the Canon EOS – 350D. although I’m not sure which one will work best for my needs and I’m willing to take other suggestions if you think a different one would work better for me. I basically want to be taking professional-ish portraits and still lifes – as well as basic photography. But mostly I want to be able to take the portraits – they will be used for advertising so I want something legit. Thanks for any suggestions and tips. Also – I would love to see sample photos if you have them available. Thanks!!
You are comparing a point and shoot, (the 650), with a DSLR. In my opinion, there would be no question. I would get the 350D. Or better yet, the Rebel XTi, which is the 400D. By getting a DSLR, you will be able to buy different lenses for different types of photography. You would be limited with the point and shoot.
No point in looking at photos, because it all depends on what lenses are being used and the person behind the camera!
Go to a good camera store and look at these models. Hold them in your hands, and see which one feels best to you, and how easy it is to use the controls.
