Camera lens has been jammed…please try and answer ASAP?
I was taking photos on my camera (Canon Digital IXUS 95 IS), and it dropped onto cement. The top of the lens has been pushed back. Every time I switch on my camera, it makes a funny beeping noise, and then on the screen it says ‘Lens error, restart camera’. So I restart the camera, but the exact same thing happens! Will I have to buy a new camera, or can I get it fixed? Will it be expensive? Can I fix it by myself? (By the way, I’m not trying to sound like a soap opera or anything). Please help ASAP!

Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it’s sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera’s been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended …
Don’t want to get your hopes up too high, but here are some things that you can do to try to correct it. They only seem to work for about 40% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty, they’re worth a try.
