What kind of digital SLR camera do you recommend for a beginner?
I have used various Sony Cybershot U point-and-shoot cameras in the past, but I need an SLR camera for next year. I will be taking pictures at sporting and social events. I borrowed a friend’s Canon 10D this year and really love their cameras.
There are a few things that are important to me:
1. High resolution–at least 10 megapixels
2. Quick power-ups
3. Really good image stabilization, especially when capturing fast paced sports
4. Not a camera that screams “amateur”
5. A price around $1000 would be great, but I’d be willing to pay a bit under $2000 if I really like it
6. Easy to use bundled software for dealing with RAW, and also compatible with Vista
Also, can you recommend a good compatible zoom lens?
