Is my 2 and a 1/2 yr old too young for a kids digital camera?
My son is 2 1/2 years old. He loves to look at the LCD screen on the back of my camera after I take a picture. I was considering buying one of those kid tough digital cameras for christmas. I know there are a couple different brands out there. The ages on most of them say 3 yrs and up. Do you think this is an okay toy for a 2 1/2 year old? Am I wasting my money? Thanks everyone 
Okay,not many kids that age truly understand how to work with digital technology on things such as cameras,DVD’s,T.V’s,Ect.My point is,that Children at those ages are usually curious about a lot of things that look flashy,or have colors,Ect.But it doesn’t mean that they understand what they are,or how to use them unless they are shown by someone that does understand what they are.And even though You tell them,or show them even,doesn’t mean that You should just hand them something and say,”Okay,go to town,and have fun with Your new play toy.”Children Don’t Understand Concepts of things like We as Adults Do.So my advice would be to wait until Your child is at least within the learning stage,or at least once the child is within the pre-school years(Like 4-6 years of age).Also,don’t always think that the sale’s people can answer that question for You,because they don’t know,or care about what happens to the camera afterwards,or know if Your child may break what they call unbreakable(Same thing was said about the Titanic,and look where it landed for so long,at the bottom of the ocean,just to say as an example).They are only about making money by any means neccasary.I Hope this makes Sense for You to Think Over on Your Decision about purchasing a camera(Toy,or Otherwise) and Regretting the Consequences/Headaches later.Good Luck,and God Bless.
