Basic Digital camera Q?
I have Canon camera with EOS and was wondering what does the f mean you know like when it says f/8 or f/2? Thanks bunches:D
When you see on a lens barrow an ‘f/’ it ususally is tell you the speed of the lens, or put another way the light gathering speed of the lens–the lower the number the faster the light gethering speed. Also the cost goes up the “faster” (higher speed) the lens.
When you see other “f” numbers like f 2.8, f 3.5, f4, f5.6, f8, f11, f16, f22 these are the lens opening measurements. Used in combination with shutter speeds, the proper exposure is obtained.
