how to turn on the Canon date stamp?
I just got my new canon powershot A620 digital camera. I want to turn on the datestamp function. So following the steps in the User Guide, I turned on the camera and went to the Rec. Menu. The “Date Stamp” option was at the bottom of the list. However, it was GREY. Whenever I moved down to that, the menu just skips it. Does anybody know how to use that option? Please respond if you know, thank you!
I’m not familiar with your model of Canon camera. I have an SLR Cannon Rebel 35mm and the date stamp is a tiny button on the bottom of the camera body. However, on my HP digital, it is on the digital select dial, but to turn it on or off you have to choose the correct mode before it will record the date stamp set. Your camera may be similar. You may have to just play around with it a bit, too, to find exactly the right mode and place the date stamp will engage. Good luck.

Another thing, user guides are often written to cover more than one model of camera. Not every model is the same as the instructions say it should be. Don’t get too frustrated. If all else fails, try to get help from the website listed in the guide.
