Help with fisheye lens?
Hi there, I am new to cameras and I’d like to purchase a fisheye lens but I have a quick question. My camera is a Sony, I believe an A350 digital SLR 14.2 megapixel camera… If I buy a fisheye lens would it have to be the same brand (a Sony)?
And how much do these typically run for? I googled fisheye lenses and got anywhere from $45 to $900

As you can see, Sony makes a 16mm F2.8 Fisheye. At least they say it is. You will have to take your camera in to a large camera store that has Sony cameras and lenses and actually test them … the Nikon fisheye is a 10.5. My 12-24 mm is a wide angle … so there is no way to theoretically determine if Sony’s 16 mm fisheye is really a fisheye.
I would think that the 11-18 mm lens would be closer to a fisheye.
A fisheye lens is characterized by the 180 degree view.
