The Nikon is over a hundred dollars cheaper and i can either get the nikon soon or
I have to keep saving for the canon Now I have to ask is it worth the wait for the SX-20? Or should I just go for the Nikon.?
And if you have one of the cameras tell me a little about it, good/ bad review?
i was comparing those two cameras as well before i got my Canon 
i don’t regret my decision at all.
the nikon is very, very simple and basic. it looks nice & produces okay images, but i prefer the Canon PowerShot SX20 much better. i got it 3 weeks ago and i’m quite satisfied.
pros:
- 2.5″ articulating LCD screen (great for self-portraits, it really does come in handy!)
- macro & super macro
- great image quality
- electronic viewfinder
- 20x optical zoom + 4x digital zoom = 80x zoom total !
- colour accent & colour swap (2 great features. you choose a colour in the picture to stay, and the rest will turn black & white)
- manual mode, which means you can adjust all settings to your liking
- aperture, shutter speed control
- image stabilization
cons:
- auto focus is a bit slow
- a bit bulky
- not very good at indoor lighting
other than that, i think its a great camera for beginners AND advanced photographers. hope i helped
